Despite appearances to the contrary - and a posting silence of longer than a year - reports of my demise are greatly exaggerated.

I just finished an upgrade of this Ghost newsletter to one that both pushes new posts to Bluesky, as well as Mastodon (and other ActivityPub / Fediverse sites).

If you're a Bluesky persona, follow @chris.notesfromthevoid.cc.ap.brid.gy. (Yes, that's a mouthful.)

If you're on the Mastodon or any other ActivityPub-compatible sites, follow @chris@notesfromthevoid.cc.

In terms of signs of life, I just got through my most challenging week of the year, and I'm still letting my brain bleed off the stress chemicals it's been marinating in since the summer. (Things turned out much better than I had any reason to expect.)

I've also been busy writing and publishing for Weird Fiction Quarterly, and I have a backlog of topics I need to get to here. In no particular order:

  • Future shock induced by the last year in artificial intelligence (and pretenders calling themselves "artificial intelligence").
  • Why I've been donating DVDs and Blu-ray discs to a Japanese multinational conglomerate.
  • My occupational transition from sole proprietor to non-profit founder and a guy actually employing a human being once more.
  • What's hiding in my closet now? Recycled laptops and servers.
  • Adventures in analog and mesh radio.
  • Justice for Scrounge.
  • The murder of the Old Internet, and the rise of a new one.

If any of this sounds remotely interesting, stay tuned.

(And if any of this sounds boring, or I just reminded you that you have one more newsletter to unsubscribe from - another topic for a post, as I've been doing that, too - feel free to tap that unsubscribe button.)
